Yugicember Day 4: Chosen One

Bild
For this December I will post eyeryday an article about a random Yu-Gi-Oh!-Card, which I randomly selected. These articles are not much planned ahead and are just posted without much research or proof-reading, because I don't have that sort of time. But I just felt like doing something like this for December, so here we are, I hope you like it.  The card for the 4th of December is Chosen One. Do you wanna play Roulette? I know I don't.    So, the first three card we looked at were all at least decent and relativley new. Sadly, this streak ends here. Because the card for today is from 2004 and it is one of the worst cards in the Game. Prepare your body for this one. "Chosen One" is a Normal Spell released in Labyrinth of Nightmare. It let's you select a monster and two non-Monster Cards from your Hand. Then your opponent randomly chooses one card among them and if he chooses the monster you can Special Summon it and sent the other cards to the Graveyard. If

Yugicember Day 3: Cosmic Flare

"Cosmic Flare" is a Quick-Play Spell, that was released 2017 in Duelist Saga. In this set many Legacy Cards, that reference the Anime were released, the biggest ones being "Vision HERO Vyon", "Gozuki", "Cosmic Blazar Dragon" and "Harpie's Father Storm". There were also some cards which reference Signature Attacks of specific Ace Monsters from the Anime, which is exactly what "Cosmic Flare" is. This card allows you to target 1 "Stardust" Synchro Monster you contro

Yugicember Day 2: Fire Opalhead

These articles are not much planned ahead and are just posted without much research or proof-reading, because I don't have that sort of time. But I just felt like doing something like this for December, so here we are, I hope you like it.    The card for the 2nd December is "Fire Opalhead". The idea of a flaming Pachycephalosaurus is very cool and very scary at the same time.       This card is already an odd one, because it was not released in the TCG at this time. It was only released in the OCG in "Promotion Pack 2017" and "Promotion Pack 2018". So it fells a bit weirs talking about this card, but since it is playable on EDOPro, I will talk about it. I however will not mention its flavor text, because it has no official translation. For all we know, the text could also be "Check THIS out" or something like it, so I will not dw

Yugicember Day 1: Gladiator Beast Charge

For this December I will post eyeryday an article about a random Yu-Gi-Oh!-Card, which I randomly selected. These articles are not much planned ahead and are just posted without much research or proof-reading, because I don't have that sort of time. But I just felt like doing something like this for December, so here we are, I hope you like it.   The card for the 1st of December is "Gladiator Beast Charge".    This looks like the 180p Youtube Version of an epic fight.   This normal Trap was released very recently in 2019 in "Chaos Impact", alongside 8 other new "Gladiator Beast" cards, like "Test Panther" and "Gladiator Beast's Comeback". Its effect lets you target face-up cards on the field up to the number of "Gladiator Beast" monsters with different names you control and destroy them. Now, this is really good. It is basicly a better "Ikarus Attack", because you don't have to tribut anything, you can de

ACSCR: Number 191: Poison Chain

Now we are back with our old Pals “Iron Chains”. I hoped we would not see them for a while, because that would have meant, that the Card was good. But alas, here we are again, talking so soon about “Posion Chain”. If you can control the Hand of the opponent with chains, could you not simply make him forfeit? This Card is meant as one of the archetypes Milling Options, but to tell the truth, it is not a very good one. Its Effect only activates during the End Phase and only if you did not attack during the turn. If does Conditions are met, you mill Cards from your opponent’s Deck equal to the number of “Iron Chain” monsters you currently control. So, in the Best-Case Scenario, this card mills 6 Cards in the End Phase, but in most Cases it would be three or four Cards, which is not much and in most cases benefits your opponent more than it hurts him. Pray to God you do not Play against “B.A”, “Shaddoll”, “Lightsworn”, “Orcust”, “Salamangreat”, “Adimancipator”, “Eldlich”, or better put,

ACSCR: Number 192: Spiders' Lair

Spiders. One of the most feared Animals in our world and therefore a primary Candidate to star in Movies, Games and other Forms of Media. Most People will remember Quelaag from Dark Souls, the Spider Level from Nioh or Arachne from Soul Eater. But I think, virtually no one remembers the Spider Series from Yu-Gi-Oh. And this has a particularly good reason. Spiders are beloved, when they are also  beautiful, naked Ladys. The Yu-Gi-Oh "Spiders" should take notes. The Spider series was played by Roman Goodwin, the leader of the Dark Signers and yet another Villain of 5Ds. Why have all Villains in 5Ds so shitty Cards? Ok, not all are terrible, which we will see later, but most of them are. And the “Spider” series is one of them. It revolves around turning the opponents monsters in Defense Position, implying, that they are caught in a siders web and cannot move anymore. This is a cool Lore implication, but an inherently bad strategy, because there is no initial gain from driv
